Menor's Ferry Homestead

North of Jackson, at Moose Junction and just off Teton Park Road, is the historic district of Menor's Ferry. Bill Menor settled there in the 1890's. The Snake River narrows significantly at that point: one of only 3 locations in the valley where the river significantly narrows to facilitate possible crossings. Bill Menor constructed his home here and he also built a small “reaction ferry”, one in which the ferry relies on the river current itself to provide the energy needed to propel the ferry across river.
